Join our Retreat
Volunteer Program
At Buddha Forest, we believe that meditation isn't just about sitting with your eyes closed. It is about how you move through the world. We call this Gong-deokhaeng—the practice of working together with a unified mind.
We invite you to join us as a volunteer. Here, you are not just a worker; you are a part of our community. Whether you are tending to the organic apple orchard, helping in the kitchen, or sweeping the temple grounds, every action is an opportunity to practice mindfulness and generosity.

What to Expect
We welcome volunteers from all over the world (often via Workaway).
Work Hours: Approximately 5 hours per day.
The Work: Varies by season. Spring is for planting, Summer for weeding (in humidity), Autumn for the apple harvest, and Winter for snow clearing and maintenance.
The Balance: In exchange for your labor, we provide accommodation, healthy vegetarian meals, and the opportunity to participate in morning and evening meditation.
Requirements: You must be willing to follow the daily schedule, abstain from alcohol/smoking, and respect the silence of the retreatants.
