Join our Retreat
Regular Practice
You do not need to wait for a specific retreat date to practice. Our doors are open to sincere practitioners who wish to join our daily schedule.
Whether you come for a weekend, a week, or a month, "Regular Practice" means integrating into the existing rhythm of the center. You will sit alongside the nuns and long-term residents, following the same schedule of waking, working, and meditating.
This is an excellent way to establish a meditation habit or to recharge your mental energy in a disciplined, supportive environment.

What You Will Learn
Even outside of intensive retreats, the teaching remains precise and systematic.
Even outside of our intensive retreats, the training here is precise and grounded in the Early Buddhist tradition. We focus primarily on Anapanasati (Mindfulness of Breathing). You will be taught to anchor your attention at the "touching point" near the nostrils, using the breath to quiet the scattered mind. As you practice, you learn to let go of the past and future, cultivating a state of clear, unbroken awareness known as Samadhi.
This concentration is not limited to the cushion. We emphasize Walking Meditation as a bridge between stillness and movement. The forest paths around the center become your training ground. Here, you learn to carry your focus into every step, maintaining awareness of the intention to move, the lifting of the foot, and the placing of the foot. This "moving meditation" is essential for stabilizing the mind so that mindfulness can be sustained in everyday activities.
